Information
Who knows whatThe intelligence the industry reads daily. ChiniMandi, BioEnergyTimes and AgriInsite carry prices, quota, policy and news.
Forty-five years in the trade showed us what the industry was missing. So we built its digital infrastructure: news, trade, research and convening. It works. And it is built to work for any commodity that runs on trust, timing and better information.
In 1981, Jitendra Shah, known across the trade as Jitu Bhai, founded JK Enterprises and entered the sugar trade. He built the firm the way lasting businesses get built in this industry: consistent conduct, and relationships that held across market cycles.
Sugar is a trust-driven trade. A handshake still carries as much weight as a signed contract, and a reputation takes decades to earn. Over four and a half decades, ours grew from a single trading desk into one of Kolhapur's respected names, and then into the group that runs our platforms today.
Along the way we kept meeting the same problem. Sugar pricing in India was never it. Prices were public. What was missing was everything around the price. Whether a deal had cleared. Where quota stood that week. What a policy change in Delhi meant for a mill in Maharashtra. The information existed, but it was scattered, late, and often held by the few who profited from keeping it that way.
So we built the platforms that close those gaps. ChiniMandi came first, in 2018, because information was the gap we understood best. eBuySugar took its current form in 2020, AgriMandi followed in 2022, and BioEnergyTimes in 2024, alongside our conferences, awards and research. Each one answers a problem we had lived ourselves, as traders, season after season.
Somewhere along that road, the company changed what it fundamentally is. The trading desk became a technology company. The platforms became the product. And sugar became the first market to prove that the model works.

Investors and partners often reach for a familiar label: a mill, a broker, a publisher. We are the digital layer running the length of the value chain, from the grower to the end consumer.
The intelligence the industry reads daily. ChiniMandi, BioEnergyTimes and AgriInsite carry prices, quota, policy and news.
Research the desk can act on. AgriMandi turns market data into forecasts and risk analysis.
The rooms that bring the value chain together. SEIC, SEIA, Round Table and EventMandi convene the industry.
A marketplace where trade clears with certainty. eBuySugar, with logistics, insurance and credit built in.
We built the information, trading and research infrastructure the sugar industry was missing. See all nine platforms
Sugar was the right first market: heavy government intervention, complex policy, large trade volumes, a wide participant network, and a direct bioenergy adjacency. A model that works there travels well.
Directional. These adjacencies describe where the model could extend, not committed revenue.
Industry expertise + platform stack + community + data = a model built to be repeated.
Wherever goods are grown, priced and traded, we intend to be the infrastructure that makes those markets work better. We apply AI where it creates value for the people in the trade: clearing deals with less friction, sharpening research, answering the industry in its own languages.
The platforms came decades after the trade. Each was built to solve a problem the industry had carried for years. Here is how we got from there to here.
JK India eAgriTech Limited is preparing for its public listing: a technology company, proven in sugar, built to extend to other commodity markets. Sugar is where we proved the model works. It is not where we intend to stop.
As the company grows past sugar alone, JK Sugars and Commodities Private Limited is renamed JK India eAgriTech Limited and converts to a public limited company, reflecting both its widening scope and its path to the public market.
BioEnergyTimes launches, covering ethanol, biogas, SAF and green hydrogen. The first Sugar Ethanol International Awards (SEIA) are held alongside SEIC. At the National Cogeneration Awards 2024, ChiniMandi is recognised as the largest media and networking platform in the sugar and allied industry.
We hold the first Sugar, Ethanol and Bioenergy India Conference (SEIC) in Mumbai, and launch AgriMandi, extending our research beyond sugar into maize, rice and wheat.
The trading and platform businesses are consolidated into a single corporate entity, JK Sugars and Commodities Private Limited, incorporated that year. The same year, eBuySugar takes its current name, identity and platform.
ChiniMandi launches to close the industry's information gap, and becomes the page the sector reads each morning.
The promoters take sugar trading online for the first time, building one of India's early digital marketplaces for the commodity.
As the trade widens into sugar and allied commodities, the family's businesses come to operate under the JK Group umbrella. Uppal Shah joins in 1997, learning the trade at his father's side. Hemant Shah follows in the late 2000s.
Jitendra Shah founds JK Enterprises, a sugar trading firm, in Kolhapur. Run as his own proprietorship, it grows over the next fifteen years into one of the region's respected names in the trade.
The business traces its origins to JK Enterprises, founded in Kolhapur in 1981. As the trade widened, the businesses operated under the JK Group. The present company was incorporated in 2020 and has since been renamed and converted to a public limited company.
